Varsity Head Coach – Jake Mcspadden
Coach Mac has been with the Desert Vista community for over 2 years.  In his first year with the Desert Vista Football program he served as the Varsity Offensive Coordinator and Math teacher.  At the conclusion of his first season DV Coach Mac jumped in to lead the football program through winter training to stabilize the program and mentor the players through the head coaching transition.  In his second year with the program he moved into the Head Coach for the freshman team and the Director of Strength and Conditioning.  Throughout his tenure with Desert Vista Coach Mac has been instrumental in managing and coordinating the game day and HUDL/Film set up. He has also created a winter 7’s team for the Desert Vista players during his second year to allow the student athletes the opportunity to continue to compete and improve for the next season.
Prior to coming to Desert Vista Coach Mac served as the Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator and Strength and Conditioning coach at Sierra Linda for 4 years.  Prior to relocating to Arizona Coach Mac was the Offensive Line coach and run game coordinator at Hollister High School for 1 year and was a graduate student Offensive line coach at Mayville State University for 2 years.
Coach Mac’s Dedication to the Desert Vista football program and community goes beyond just his roles indicated above.  Coach Mac makes it a point to connect with the kids who all know how much he cares about them, and is routinely found at other sporting events supporting the Desert Vista athletes that he works with both in the weight room and on the field.  His wife Jess has continuously been a supporter of the program and last year spent time filming the freshman games throughout the season, making Desert Vista football a family affair for Coach Mac.
